Veteran's Day

November 2, 2018 | Eatonville Press Team

With November upon us, there are a few things we would like you to know.  Please exercise your right to vote during the elections to be held on Nov 6, 2018.  This process had been made easier by the new drop box location at Town Hall located at 201 Center St W and the prepaid postage on your ballot envelope.

The Town of Eatonville would also like to extend our thanks to all veterans, past and present, for the sacrifices they have made for us.  Please take a moment on November 11, 2018 to give thanks to those who have served.

In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed the 11th day as the first commemoration with the following words, "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."

On November 26, 2018 the Eatonville Town Council will be considering a resolution to become a “Purple Heart Community.”  We welcome all Purple Heart recipients, their family members and the general public to attend and give input.  The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Eatonville Community Center, located at 305 Center ST W. Light refreshments will be served after the conclusion of the meeting.

From the Town of Eatonville, to all veterans of the armed forces, we thank you.
